Attributed to Maurice Prendergast (St-John's (Canada) 1858 - New-York 1924) was an American painter.
He studied art in Paris, knew several English painters, he came very close to the style of the Impressionists and Pointillists. The influences of Vuillard and Bonnard (French painters) pushed his style towards post-impressionism. He worked mainly in watercolor, in his maturity he turned to oil works that started from watercolor sketches.
