Oil on canvas by Otto Weber painter born in Berlin in 1832 and died in London on December 23 1888. Active in England and Germany he was a pupil of Carl Steffek in Berlin and Thomas Couture in Parugi. In 1870 he was in France and at the outbreak of the Franco-Prussian war he took refuge in Italy Milan and Rome until 1873. He then settled in London and became a painter at the Court of Queen Victoria until his death.
